A Note From the CEO

Welcome to the third edition of "Where You'd Rather Be" magazine.  Thank you to all who have shared your thoughts and feedback on first two issues and have inspired us to not only keep publishing this magazine, but to make it even better!

We’ve heard you enjoy the inspirational stories of people that are making a difference and following their heart. And while there are as many stories as grains of sand, we’ve done our best to showcase a few of the people that help make the Emerald Coast so sunny. From one mom’s passion to fight childhood hunger to an unlikely fishing captain to one of our favorite local chefs, in this issue we’re sharing stories of incredible people that inspire us daily.  Our cover story celebrates the Emerald Coast’s obsession with wine and how wine now helps to support more than 14 local charities, serving children in need in Northwest Florida.

We also enjoyed getting to know Lucy Buffet and hearing more about her latest venture, Lulu’s Destin. Finally, we take a moment to celebrate the Emerald Coast’s history by showcasing one of Gulf Coast’s most popular and longest operating attractions, the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park.

Most importantly, we hope to inspire you to join us in making a difference. We’ve included sidebars and pull outs with easy tips and recommendations that will help preserve, protect and benefit our beach community for future generations.

As always, we invite you to provide us feedback as well as share your stories and memories with us on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, or tag your posts with #newmandailey, #destinvacation or #southwaltonvacation.

Lastly, we want to know your favorite Destin restaurant. Be sure to complete the online survey for a chance to win a special Destin dining experience.

See you @ the beach!
