A Vacation with the Best of Both Worlds: Family Fun & Wellness

It had been several years since our last family vacation, and, after our youngest son’s first birthday, it was definitely time for that getaway. We chose Newman- Dailey Resort Properties in Miramar Beach, and it was the best decision for our family trip. Before leaving home, Newman- Dailey provided us with a helpful packing checklist and an awesome phone app that put their office, maintenance support, weather, beach camera, places to eat, activities, rentals, and more right at our fingertips!
Upon arrival in Miramar Beach, the Newman-Dailey staff gave us a warm welcome for our stay at the “Twin Palms at Avalon” vacation home. Instead of keys, we received a convenient door code for the house. Our spacious vacation home was gorgeous and just a few short blocks from the beach. As we relaxed that first night, I was so excited for the week ahead and our plans for family fun, beach time, a date night… and yoga, fitness, and a massage for Mom!
Yoga and Massage at The Henderson Resort and Salamander Spa
Stretch yoga (also offered on the lawn), followed by an outdoor lunch at Primrose and aromatherapy massage at
the Salamander Spa, was just what I needed to unwind and rejuvenate. Opened in November 2016, The Henderson Resort is adjacent to a 208-acre environmentally protected state park providing a relaxing setting. With views of the Gulf of Mexico in the distance, the Salamander Spa features 11 exquisite private treatment rooms and a wet area with an experiential shower and whirlpool, tub as well as a luxurious couple’s suite and a full-service salon.
Adventure on the Sea Blaster Sunset Dolphin Cruise
Our second evening in Destin, we enjoyed the Sea Blaster Sunset Dolphin Cruise, a 73’ passenger boat with restrooms; one adult admission per day is included with each Newman- Dailey stay. The coastal cruise was wonderful as we watched a beautiful sunset and saw so many dolphins, it was like they were waiting for us and wanting to play.
