Newman-Dailey Raises More Than $47k and 1,046 Food Items For Harvest House of Destin

DESTIN, Fla.-October 2, 2025 — As part of Newman-Dailey Resort Properties' 40th Anniversary year, the team set out to raise more than $40,000 for their local non-profit partner, Harvest House of Destin. According to Florida Demographics by Cubit, 5.6% of Destin families live in poverty, and the need is greater during the winter months due to the seasonality of the local fishing and tourism industries. To help support Destin families in need, the team at Newman-Dailey held a summer fundraiser and exceeded their goal by raising $47,862 and gathering 1,046 food items for the Harvest House of Destin to help fight hunger.
“We’re excited to partner with the Harvest House of Destin for a third year in a row for our community service project,” said Newman-Dailey’s Founder and CEO Jeanne Dailey. “Due to the Harvest House’s recent relocation and realignment of services to focus solely on food distribution, we knew they needed us more than ever. They are one of the longest operating food pantries in our area and have been around almost as long as I’ve lived here. I am humbled by the outpouring of support and how much we were able to raise for the cause!”
Established in 1987 by Jerry Ogle with his wife, Claire, the Harvest House was founded to share food with the hungry, which helped the local fishing community get through the long, cold winter. Staying true to the vision, the Harvest House Food Pantry has continued for more than 38 years. In their new location, they will continue to serve the needs of the working poor, especially the elderly and families who have been impacted by unexpected life changes, through their food pantry and community connections to other area non-profits.
Newman-Dailey team members from all divisions, including Vacation Rentals/Property Management, Real Estate Sales and Association Management, began reaching out to friends, family, homeowners, vendors and clients to fundraise and gather food this summer. Due to reduced space at the new location, the team focused on gathering breakfast cereal and canned goods.
At the conclusion of the drive, team Newman-Dailey had achieved outstanding the results, and surprised Executive Director Lori Joyner, Founder Jerry Ogle and Chairman Jason Belcher with a check for $47,862, which was more than $12K more than the 2024 donation of $35,569. Through the team’s competitive spirit, the team exceeded their fundraising goal through 177 online and direct donations along with Newman-Dailey’s corporate contribution. In just three years, Team Newman-Dailey has raised $121,927 for the cause.
“We always question how much we can raise, but this year was special,” said Newman-Dailey Fundraising Captain Lisa Morgan. “We wanted to increase our impact for our 40th Anniversary and knew the need was great for Harvest House. Once again, our competitive spirit and love of helping people in our community shined through! Seeing Jason, Lori, and Jerry’s reaction to the food and donations and being able to help families when they need it most is so rewarding!”
Over the last 38 years, Harvest House has served more than 116K+ people and passed out 346K+ bags of food to families in need in the Destin area. Located at 114 Palmetto St., Suite 1 in downtown Destin, Harvest House is open Wednesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or by appointment by calling 850-837-2277.
